Watercolors by Skylar Chang

Liu Chang, or “Skylar” as he is called by his English-speaking friends, will be displaying his Chinese watercolor paintings at Twenty-Five Main Cafe for the month of October. Trained from an early age in traditional Chinese methods of painting, Skylar is currently studying art at Dixie College, where he is augmenting his education with western techniques. Skylar describes himself in his online bio as “the only child of very traditional Chinese Parents,” who encouraged him to pursue his artistic talents and paid for private lessons with Chinese artists despite financial hardship. While Skylar enjoys learning new techniques at Dixie College, he finds watercolor to be his most expressive medium, and hopes to one day teach Chinese watercolor technique. You can see more of his artwork at his website: SkylarChang.com.
